The next seminar of the “Fridays of Reform – Towards a comprehensive Reform of Public Governance” initiative will take place on 28 January to debate the perfomance assessment of public entities in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation headquarters, located in Lisbon. Mario MarcelOECD Deputy Director of Public Governance and Territorial Development, will be presenting the topic under the title “Public servants: from cost to asset after fiscal consolidation”, which will be further discussed by Joana Ramos, from the Directorate-General for Administration and Public Employment, and Joaquim Filipe Araújo, from University of Minho.

“Fridays of Reform” will debate the performance assessment of public entities

The seminar cycle “Fridays of the Reform” is a joint initiative by the Bank of Portugal, the Portuguese Public Finance Council and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, which takes place once a month, on a Friday afternoon, at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation headquarters. In each session, specialists will present and comment on themes under analysis, extending the discussion to the audience.

 

At the “Fridays of the Reform” cycle, various themes will be discussed, such as information organisation and sharing within the public administration, leadership and human resource motivation, administrative modernisation, public administration performance indicators, articulation between public and private sectors to provide goods and services (health and education), assessment of the Social Security reform, among others.
