CFP joins meeting of the european independent fiscal institutions in Bratislava

The Portuguese Public Finance Council (CFP) participated in a regular meeting of the Network of European Union (EU) independent fiscal institutions (IFI) in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The non-executive member Carlos Marinheiro and the technical coordinator Nuno Gonçalves participated in the nowcasting panel. A set of analytical techniques increasingly used by IFIs in their day-to-day work with macroeconomic and fiscal data were discussed.

Besides CFP, also UPB (Italy), AIReF (Spain) and IFAC (Ireland) presented their experience with macroeconomic nowcasting. OBR (United Kingdom) and CBR (Slovakia) made their presentation about working with real-time fiscal data.
