Noémia Goulart was one of the speakers at the webinar “Monitoring Policies Based on Sustainable Development Frameworks”, part of the modular training cycle in public policies organised by PlanAPP, in collaboration with INA and Replan.

The webinar, held on 10 March, included presentations from invited speakers, followed by a Q&A session.

During her presentation on the topic “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Budgetary Process”, the member of the CFP Senior Board emphasised the importance of integrating the SDGs into the budgetary process to promote more sustainable and effective public policies. Noémia Goulart highlighted the need to coordinate budgeting for the SDGs with other instruments such as green and gender budgeting, to strengthen the public financial management system to ensure the integration of the SDGs in relevant stages of the budgetary process, and the need to develop a culture oriented towards the SDGs and greater coordination between different levels of governance.

The webinar also featured presentations by Ana Salvado, coordinator of PlanAPP's Multidisciplinary Monitoring Team, on monitoring the SDGs, based on the experience of preparing the Voluntary National Report, and by Sofia Duarte from INE on the indicator system for monitoring progress towards the SDGs.

The training programme organised by PlanAPP since April 2024 aims to empower senior officials and technical staff of the Public Administration, covering the areas of foresight, planning, design and programming, monitoring and evaluation of public policies, with a view to formulating more robust, responsible and adaptable policies to the increasing complexity and changing context experienced in public action.
