Health Systems

The Portuguese Public Finance Council (CFP) releases today an occasional paper regarding the “Health Systems”, which describes the main elements of a health system. It also compares the Portuguese health system to the remaining ones in the OECD and details the current model in Portugal.

Portugal has a mixed health system, in which residents have an automatic protection under the responsibility of the State and may voluntarily contract additional protection through public or private health insurance companies.
