The Chair of the Portuguese Public Finance Council (CFP) was among the panel of speakers invited by the Agency for Development and Cohesion (AD&C) to participate in the round table discussion on “40 years of Portugal’s membership of the EEC”, held as part of the European Funds Exhibition in Coimbra on December 5.

 

In her speech, Nazaré da Costa Cabral addressed the impact of European Funds on economic growth and the convergence process of the Portuguese economy, as well as the challenges that lie ahead in the post-RRP era and in view of the new Multiannual Financial Framework 2028-2034.

 

The debate was moderated by Cláudia Joaquim, President of AD&C, and Elisabete Quintas, Member of the same entity, with the participation of António Cunha, President of the Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission, Ana Coelho, Manager of the Pessoas 2030 program, and Augusto Mateus, retired Professor at ISEG.

 

The opening was led by Sofia Moreira de Sousa, Representative of the European Commission in Portugal, Maria João Monte, President of the Regional Development Institute of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, and Hélder Reis, Secretary of State for Planning and Regional Development.
