The Chair of the Portuguese Public Finance Council (CFP), Nazaré da Costa Cabral, took part as a speaker at the Cascais International Health Forum 2026, held on 24 and 25 September in Estoril, at the invitation of the Fórum Saúde XXI.
The Chair’s presentation was entitled “The New Economy of Longevity: The Largest Market of the 21st Century”, addressing the economic and social impacts of increased life expectancy and demographic ageing.
In her presentation, Nazaré da Costa Cabral discussed the impacts of longevity on the economy, the sustainability of public finances and the organisation of health and social protection systems. She emphasised the importance of active and healthy ageing, as well as innovation in public policies and funding models for long-term care.
The Cascais International Health Forum 2026 brought together policy-makers, health professionals, researchers, companies and national and international organisations to reflect on the challenges of health, longevity and the sustainability of contemporary societies.
