The Chair of the Portuguese Public Finance Council spoke at the Banking on Change conference, organised by ECO, which took place on 11 March at the Belém Cultural Centre in Lisbon.

Nazaré da Costa Cabral took part in a one-on-one discussion with journalist Ânia Ataíde, on the theme “The conditions for financing the economy”, during which topics such as Portugal’s efforts to reduce the public debt ratio, the need to boost public and private investment, as well as increased defence spending and the lack of fiscal clarity associated with such investment were addressed.

Under the motto “Adapt, innovate and lead”, the second edition of the Banking on Change conference focused on the impact of Artificial Intelligence, analysing how this technology is redefining the financial sector and forcing European banks to make strategic decisions regarding digital sovereignty, regulation and the customer experience.
