Invited by Jornal de Negócios, Noémia Goulart was one of the speakers at the Grande Conferência Negócios Sustentabilidade, with the theme “Building a Competitive Europe in Times of Global Disorder,” which took place on May 7th and 8th at NovaSBE in Carcavelos.
Noémia Goulart participated in the panel “European Challenges in the New (Dis)Order: Competitiveness, Welfare State, and Defence” on May 8th, where topics such as the evolution of public, social, and defence spending and commitments to NATO; budgetary pressures; financing European defence and the Welfare State: challenges and dilemmas; and public policy instruments and budget programming to control spending were discussed. Also present in the same debate were Armindo Monteiro, President of CIP, Germano Almeida, Major General José Filipe Arnaut Moreira, moderated by journalist Helena Garrido.
The second day featured Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever and co-author of the book ‘Net Positive,’ as the keynote speaker.
According to Jornal de Negócios, the conference brought together business leaders and experts “with the aim of understanding the paths we are taking in addressing Portugal's greatest challenges in the area of sustainability.”
